Spring peakin’ w/prints!

Another day that started beautiful, and then reminds us how crazy New England weather is -eye roll

March is almost over and the minute the sun shines, best believe I’ve been taking full advantage haha

I’ve had this outfit for months and months but finally decided to whip it out! I looooove love love love love love mixing. I’ve been called tacky, corny, old-grandpa-ish

I want to focus on skirts today! Since I was younger I was so self conscious of my legs (especially in skirts). They resembled 2 toothpicks, then two hot dogs haha

However, I never realized how versatile they could be!! I’ve worn this skirt on the weekend with a graphic tee and sneakers, and today I decided to dress it up!

Like I said a thousand times I love to wear prints, just wait and see how I begin to clash them!! Don’t be scared ladies, there are never any rules I swear!

I decided to pair this outfit with these little white booties for a classic twist! I was also in gooooood need of a tan-and some moisturizer on my knees- yikes

It’s been awhile since I’ve just put together outfits for me, for the sake of embracing my creativity. Sometimes we get so caught up in the day-by-day that we forget to outshine our creativity to the fullest.

This was also before I completely chopped more hair off- and toned it rose gold! Can’t wait to show you guys!

I guess you can say I’ve been itching for a change, and staying bold!

I purchased this skirt from my favorite local boutique here in Rhode Island called Elle G ( I’ve mentioned them several times-as well as included this skirt in a haul last month on my YouTube Channel). If you’re interested in this skirt here are my fav selling points-

•It has pockets!

• It’s stretchy!

• It buttons up instead of zips!

• Versatile material so it looks great dressed up or dressed down!

Purchase here – Gingham Skirt!

Also, I am wearing mine in a size medium! I suggest going a size smaller if you choose to wear it high waisted because without a belt I had some gap!!

Hope you all have a great Easter!

Starting off the week ‘strapped’ in, and ready!!!

Like always, it’s been forever. 8 months postpartum I’m still trying to figure out how to juggle two crazy girls, design, workout, eat, shower and sleep!! Class starts up for me again in September so I’ve been busy busy busy reaching goals before that month rolls around!

Olive + Annie

Hey everyone! I’m sure you’ve all realized how quickly October flew, and I never have complaints about this; my birthday is October 30th, I’ll be the big 2-5!

Of course then comes Halloween, and since I was young it’s always been my favorite. Probably because I love to dress up, right? Well holidays are so much more exciting now that I’m a mom. I get to watch how excited Avynn is to run around at a pumpkin patch, and how nice it feels to bring Ivory with us and make new memories!

A few days back, my sisters and I (of course with the kids) decided to visit Clark Farm!

This place is fun for kids and adults, and has such an assortment of activities for only an $8 admission! As I always say-support your locals!

I also figured it would be the perfect day to whip out the perfect little gift from Olive + Annie

How perfect are these leather moccasins?! These ones are ‘3-6 months’ and I love that they have an elastic around the ankles to make them easier to slip on! Ivory is still tiny so these were easy to throw on!

I’m so obsessed with the color I chose, and it was so hard to choose. This color is popular in all seasons, especially fall-for me.

Their real, genuine, leather moccasins are so vibrant and super classic. What I loved most when asked to represent the company is their passion.

Olive + Annie moccasins are handcrafted in Kenya where their mission is that each purchase supports their initiatives to end sexual violence in and beyond East Africa!

I loved this, and in recognition of that would love to offer my readers a discount using my code ‘fierce15’!

Someone’s excited for their new moccs!
We’ve already gotten endless compliments on these! They are in the color ‘Sahara Brown,’ I need an adult pair, haha

Head over to their site at Olive + Annie and also check out their Instagram page at O+A

These are so gender neutral and perfect for the holiday season coming up! Thank you again to Ellie and the Olive + Annie team, we are in loveeeee

Small business Sunday!

Happy Sunday everyone, and everyone here in Rhode Island-we finally have a decent day to relax and watch football (yesterday was miserable)! Right when we were in the hospital for Ivory Elle’s arrival I had received a box of Macaroons from JOY and let me tell you, my family and I were obsessed!

Growing up, working for small businesses made me appreciate the quality of items tremendously, and it inspired me to interview Liz about their small business. When I was younger, I had a million dreams and goals. I once wanted to be a pediatric nurse, until the thought of seeing blood made me cringe. Then my mind swayed to teaching children, I’ve always loved kids. Finally, once I had a daughter of my own, I changed my mind again and considered owning my own clothing line one day, or possibly owning a boutique. This made me start thinking.

I asked Liz what inspired her to become a baker and how long she had been in the business for?

I have always loved baking and bakeries, and have always had a fascination with bakeries and sweet things. I started seriously baking about 10 years ago, and was inspired to make Macarons while waiting for my first baby to be born. I so loved the process, that I found myself making tons of them and giving them to family and friends. I worked in retail most of my adult life and thought it would be great to own a bakery, so I went for it. We have been in business for two years now.”

Just reading Liz’s response gave me such a connection. Not many people find a career in which they love and enjoy, and sometimes our children (or being pregnant with our children) give us inspiration to consider career paths in which we may never have considered before.

When I was pregnant with Avynn I had a complete change of heart towards teaching, and I ended up taking a long leave of absence from school. With my second pregnancy I realized that after all I did want to get into the medical field because such of a high demand for jobs. However, because of my queasy stomach I had to consider something in an opposite atmosphere. I finally talked to a career adviser and decided I wanted to study Medical Sonography. This career is rewarding, and I enjoyed learning all aspects.

When I asked Liz what training/experience she had prior to opening the bakery she says,

“I had no experience in the food industry, but -(As she stated before), I did have retail experience and customer service experience along with marketing. I rented commercial kitchen space where I learned how to use the appropriate equipment and asked tons of questions along the way.”

I absolutely love hearing real life inspiration, and she definitely radiates this. Naturally, with all of the good vibes going around, I had to ask about the food, haha

Liz tells me their best selling items are their Pistachio, and their Honey and Lavender Macarons. She says, “Our ice cream sandwiches have become super popular as well.”

I have to agree that Pistachio was one of my top favorites too!

And like all things, with the good always comes a challenge . I ask her what kind of unexpected challenges they may have faced when operating/owning a bakery?

She states, “I have been surprised by how tough you have to be owning a business. I created JOY with the intention of spreading Joy to people and making them happy. You can’t please everyone and I really want everyone to experience the best from JOY “

Every business that I have ever worked for always had the same intentions. “The customer is always right,” was always a factor. Pleasing the customer and making sure that you develop a great reputation was always a priority. And of course the main goal is to always keep the customer coming back, and wanting more. As a business the one factor that will always try to get in the way, is the competition. How do you set yourself apart? Many businesses set themselves apart with the smallest little “extras.” The “little things.”

Liz, how do you compete with others in your area? What makes you stand out and why do you feel you’ve been so successful with other bakeries in the area?

She explains, “We work very hard on having the best product and are constantly working to make it better. We try to have original flavors using the best ingredients and we NEVER use artificial flavoring. Because Macarons are all we do, we set high for ourselves and aim for perfection everyday, and we have standards of FUN!”

This is exactly what I was explaining-the ability to take the extra TLC to use natural sweetness and make sure to always find ways to improve are key in staying original!

This is definitely respectable and in just two years I am sure this is what their customers have noticed most (aside from the delicious recipes)! With so much success I wondered what she considered her greatest accomplishment?

“My biggest accomplishment is creating a business that my entire family can be involved in. I have three kiddos and my husband works with me, and I have the perfect work/life experience.”

This is honorable. To be able to spend time doing what you love, with who you love is a blessing. I embrace my love for writing along with fashion, in this blog, and being able to include my experiences as a mother, and share these moments with my girls is amazing. Having James photograph it is the biggest bonus.

To end our interview, I ask if she had to be a Macaron, which would she be, and why?

“I would be the Violet and Black Currant. It is sweet and tart, but adventurous and bold. It’s my favorite flavor!”

I love this. I loved the Macarons, and I gifted one box to a lucky winner through Snapchat! He received the box and loved them as well.

A huge HUGE thank you again to Liz. I diiiieeee over the cookie dough Macaron! It was my family’s favorite! Best of luck with all you do!

To all of my readers, the packaging, vibrancy, flavor, and experience with Joy Macarons was unreal. These make the perfect gift, especially with the holidays just around the corner! Make sure to check out their Instagram as well at JOY!

Sunsets + Shop Elle G

Hello All! In my last post I introduced one of my favorite local Boutiques, Elle G!

Their Spring Collection is out and who doesn’t love the biggest convenience of Spring-throwing on a dress! ‘Tis the Season of dresses, rompers, skirts and shorts making appearances from my closet!

Last Spring my favorites were skorts and shorts because it was so easy to pair them with cropped tops, or a tucked-in/tied-up tank!

Well, this Spring + Summer I’ll be nice and pregnant, so my wardrobe will have to adjust for sure! This is especially why I LOVE that I will be pregnant during the two seasons most popular for dresses!

This dress that I pulled from Elle G was a Springy Coral color, and such a girly choice (having a bow and all)! I loved wearing this dress after the sun went down because of how thin and breezy the material is! This dress was originally supposed to be tied as a halter dress, however I got super sun burned the first few days and my bathing suit left an “X” from the way I tied it, so like so I tied that way as well! I love adding new dimensions to a piece so simple!

This dress doesn’t come completely to floor length so I feel it should be worn with a lace-up sandal or wedge! It sure is the season of “laced-up-everything!”

I was on the beach at sunset, and am almost always barefoot!

Along with this dress option the owner Lauren pulled a cute dainty gold 2 layered necklace for me! I love love love layered necklaces! What’s better than getting 2-in-1?!

Here again I wore some sunnies, this time a brown pair from  H&M!

I highly suggest visiting Elle G on their Instagram @ Shop Elle G for more new arrivals + popular items that lace-up and cut-out!

Who doesn’t love coral on tan skin, or a beautiful beach sunset?!

Okay, im teasing myself already + want to be back there 😩 , and I’m sure I’m teasing you  all too!

All Black + Bicycles

So as you all know, we went on a road trip to Florida last week! As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, originally I wanted to post all of my adventures while down there. However, having a 3 year old now leaves only time to rest when we have some down-time. Instead, I decided to use Instagram + Facebook to leak little previews of our vacation-opposed to full-length blog posts on here.

Now that I am home and have a few days here with Avynn while James is off at work on a small trip, I figure what a perfect time to share now!

Before we left for vacation, I had connected with a local boutique—> Elle G that I love-to collaborate with them and see what they would like to be featured for Spring! I ended up pulling 2 of the cutest dresses with necklaces to match.

Last Monday I dedicated to wearing all black (per usual). We had a decently warm day,and since it wasn’t too hot it was perfect for all black, along with a bike ride around my grandparents community.

We loved putting Avynn in the basket and riding around (especially when she was tired).

This necklace and dress were my 2 faves ! I literally won’t buy a dress or skirt without pockets unless I’m completely in love with it. This dress came with the perfect bonus (having pockets)!!

Spring weather means I whip out all of my hat collection….well who am I kidding, I’m such a hat girl year-round. I feel that Florida screams “Sun hats” so I chose my black sun hat, along with my favorite fringe-y black flats!

I thought the necklace from Elle G was the perfect length, and definitely complimented the vacation-vibes I was going for!

Because of this 18-week pregnant belly, I had to take a rope-belt and make sure to give myself a waist-line, otherwise I would be swimming in it.

How cute is this dress?! I loved the length and the sheerness at the bottom. If I was transforming this outfit to a night-time look, I would add some wedges, a slicked back pony, and a statement necklace.

You can shop this look at —> Elle G , they have 2 locations here in Rhode Island- 1 in Wakefield and 1 right in the Emporium at URI! In the meantime you can visit there page to give them a follow + stay up-to-date on their new arrivals! —> Shop Elle G on Instagram!

In regards to my Hat + cat-eye Sunnies, both are Steve Madden

And these flats were gifted months back, and they’re surprisingly comfortable + from Charlotte Russe

Lastly, one of my favorite lipsticks that I always smack on is my -“Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick” this product is by The Balm Cosmetics! I love love love this matte color! This stays on even after eating and the scent is INSANE. It is in “vanilla mint.” I received this sample in my October Ipsy Glam Bag and I use it atleast 3x a week. My small sample is still over-half!

mylove.jpg ^^ This little guy is my love for liiiiiife!

Hope you enjoyed my little splash of sunshine, hopefully Rhody will be seeing some sunshine soon!
